Should the First Amendment Cost you Your Job?????

Its just funny how there are certain restrictions to the first amendment. No don't get me wrong I don't like Don Imus at all ,but he shouldn't be fired from his job. I say that to say this, he has the right to say whatever he wants. Who are we to say what another person can say or not say. Now I don't know how the FCC regulates stuff like that , but the First Amendment is the First Amendment. You shouldn't be fired for saying your true feelings.

No matter how many times he apologize , or meet black people to show how sorry he is for saying it, he still felt that the Rugters Women Team was "Nappy Headed Hoes". He shouldn't be punished or any one be punished for saying what you feel. The punishment in the beginning was cool to block him off the air for 2 weeks for inappropriate comments, but not to block him off the T. V. for good. If old white men can't say what they want in America anymore , there is no hope for anyone in is country.

No matter who feelings you hurt , you have the right to say what you want in this country. You might not like what that person said, you still have the right . I don't want anyone to take my freedom of speech away. Whats next , no freedom of religion? We can kill and have the right to bear arms but can say what we want? Movies and music express themselves all the time, also with a rating on their material. But I think this was a witch hunt against Don Imus to remove him from the T.V. and the air. They couldn't find anything to pin on him so they let Imus hang himself with something that he couldn't get rid of. For years he has belittled every race and nationality without any persecution. Now calling black women Nappy Hoes is the last straw for Imus? What does this do for the African American community or the Rutgers team. In the 60's blacks have endured more than just being called Nappy Hoes but now this is the last straw? It makes no sense to me. Not in any way am I supporting Don Imus, but this doesn't help or hurt the African American community. It just gives something for Al Sharpton to rant about ( #1 hypocrite in the world). Please can we get a clue and see the real issues. I told this white woman that agreed with me over a cup of coffee that this along with Anna Nicole paternity circus is nothing more that something to keep us not focusing on the Iraq War .......

God Bless JJ !!

It takes a lot of heart for a man from Ohio now making Philly home to pull off something like this. The SOUTH STREET GREEN FESTIVAL was one of the best events that I attended in this city. Its a shame that it wasn't on a sunny day, but the people that attended and help host brighten up the event. It was a wonderful event that I wish more could have attended, but there is always next year. It was hosted by URBAN GREEN PARTNERSHIP ,a organization formed right off of South Street to help promote better recycling policies in our city. They create, communicate, and support the information and tools residents will need to save money and their planet.
Many sponsors promoted sustainable alternatives to better living for the people that attend this event. From growning your own clothes to heating your home with corn, the event touched every avenue when it comes to costless , energy saving living. Some officals did attend the event like Mr. Nutter, Mr. Siadel and Mr Morrice Sampson who was the head of the Philly recycling dept, now a chairman of RECYCLE NOW! The Green Party candidates also showed interest in the event and showed their support.
The music was wonderful and performed to some of the best tunes and some old school music. Even the hip hop acts that were on the Whole Foods roof were great. There was music for all diffent types of crowds that attended. The children had a ball in the kids area with clowns , face painting and a magician. JJ Biel Goebel covered all basis with this festival and make sure that everyone was happy . The overall theme of the festival is to show that there are people that really care about the environment and its issues. Plus to educate and spread this knowledge to your homes and neighborhoods. The volunteers that made this happen also should be congratulated ,especially Mr. Erik Everts , the wiz that connected all this together. Without him ,some wouldn't be possible.

We need more festivals like this or just events to show our city how much love we really have for Philadelphia . Just to take care of our environment and to pass this mentality to our children so they can continue with the legacy. There's a lot of people that care about this city , but don't know where to go or who to talk to about environmental issues. Well UGP has made their presence known that they are here for us and to show us how to live eco friendly in a city that only recycles 6%.

Ray's Anatomy

ray naginIt says a lot about a man who wants to take on another term as Mayor to a city like New Orleans. Who would want another term of this crazy mess that we call Katrina. Katrina is like the movie My Super Ex. Girlfriend, you tell her that its over and she f's you over through the whole movie. We'll this isn't a movie and this won't be over in a 2 hour movie. This will be a on going struggle for lifes, lands, power, politics and money. Lots of money, some given, some taken, some promised by our President that we haven't seen yet. What was Ray thinkin? Anyone else would have packed whatever was left and hauled ass out of the 9th Ward. But not Ray, oh no not Ray Nagin! All the criticism that he has faced through this whole ordeal, and he still keeps his head up. That shows some signs of a true leader. Maybe he feels that he should finish what was started and couldn't leave his people, whoever is left behind. Thats his home and I know that he couldn't go out like that and see the state he was born and raised come out like a 2 dollar whore! N.O. is the loser in this game of politics and betrayal and families will be lost forever cause people that were elected in office that we put our trust in dropped the ball when it came to Ms. Katrina. What would your Mayor have done if put in that situation? Could Street have held his head up in high water if this could have happen to Philly? I don't know what Mr. Nagin will do the 2nd term , year 2 of The Katrina Wars, but he can't do it alone! Nagin will have to put that Tuskegee Degree to work to figure out how he's going to win this WAR. This is a war just like Iraq and you can pick a long list of enemies that are terrorizing New Orleans. The FEMA regime has shown how much they want this WAR to be over, the GOVERNMENT has dropped the ball so bad that its rolled down the banks and washed to sea. Some say that Nagin is the enemy , that he and Bush are in together, but no one really wanted the job that he has today. So what could be the purpose of being Mayor to a city that many not be a city for about 20 yrs from now. There is no homes , no jobs ,cars on top of homes, diseases, crime and punishment, who would want a job like that? You have a better chance in Iraq, at least Iraq is being backed by our government , funded by our government , and being reconstructed by Haliburton. Who's working with New Orleans, Spike Lee? Thats a shame, no one knows poverty ,real poverty, until you one day walk outside your door and see a river with fridges and bodies floating down stream!
