PA 19th District Senate Special Election

Andy Dinniman for PA Senate in the 19th District

On May 16th, there will be a special election in the 19th District (parts of Chester and Montgomery County) for the PA Senate. It is important to get the word out since turnouts at the polls are usually low for primaries. All registered voters can vote in this special election.

I would like to ask all to consider helping out the candidate that I am supporting, Chester County Commissioner Andy Dinniman, for this seat. You can find out more about Andy's record and how he will best serve the 19th District on his web site at http://andydinnimanpasenate.org/.

You can also help others find Andy's web site by adding a lawn sign like the one above to your blog or web site. Details on how to link it can be found at http://andydinnimanpasenate.org/linktous.shtml.

Thanks for your help in this very important special election!

Marry a Dog?

It seems that our PA house representatives feel that supporting equal rights for gay marriage will lead to all of us marrying animals. In today's Daily Local News, the front page article talks about a bill to be introduced entitled the Marriage Protection Act. The first line shows how intelligent they feel the electorate is:

If marriage isn’t defined as only a union between one man and one woman, state Rep. Arthur D. Hershey believes people will want to marry animals.

Let's Play Hardball

Over the past week, the governor of Pennsylvania endorsed Bob Casey, Jr as his choice to run against Santorum for the US Senate seat in 2006. In my personal opinion, Casey is not the best choice. Some have told me that since Rendell has given his nod to Casey that it is time to get behind him. Did someone forget that the primaries are still over a year away? Did all of a sudden Pennsylvania become a place where we cannot choose who we as voters think is best? Since we still do live in a democracy, I want you to consider another option.

Take a moment and go over to the web page that we have set up that tells a little more about why we think Chris Matthews is an excellent choice as the Democratic candidate to defeat Santorum in 2006.

Already think it is a great idea? Please sign our petition now and spread the word! Also, please add a note on your blog or web site with a link to the web page to help us publicize this effort.

The System Works!

If you were active in the last election cycle, you may have heard the name Lani Frank. She was arrested this past summer while handing out voter registration cards outside a showing of Fahrenheit 911. She was initially found quilty of disorderly conduct, but today, that was overturned on appeal! See my personal blog for the details of yet another small victory in the pursuit of democracy in Chester County.
