SEPTA and its drivers with attitude.

I sent this complaint to SEPTA last week and I've yet to get a response. After reading something like this, you'd think they'd at least take a minute to send me a form letter apologizing for my inconvenience etc., but I don't even get that. The deafening silence coming from SEPTA speaks volumes.

(Before I’m accused of being overly negative, I’d like to say that my beef is with the small number of drivers with attitude, not the majority who have to put up with all kinds of crap I’d never have the patience to deal with.)

To whom it may concern--

A majority of Americans support impeachment if Bush broke the law

I just wanted to put in this little quickie in case anyone missed it.

From the Vermont Guardian:

WASHINGTON, D.C. — By a margin of 52 to 43 percent, citizens want Congress to impeach President Bush if he wiretapped American citizens without a judge's approval, according to a new poll commissioned by AfterDowningStreet.org, a grassroots coalition that supports a Congressional investigation of Pres. Bush's decision to invade Iraq in 2003.

The poll was conducted by Zogby International.

The poll found that 52 percent of respondents agreed with the statement: "If President Bush wiretapped American citizens without the approval of a judge, do you agree or disagree that Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment."

Of those contacted, 43 percent disagreed, and 6 percent said they didn't know or declined to answer. The poll has a margin of error of 2.9 percent.

Sharon's stroke: Who cares?

Are you like me and listen to way too much NPR? I had some thoughts on their coverage of the Sharon stroke storie.

I don't know about you, but I'm really getting sick of the hourly updates on the health of Arik Sharon on NPR. He had a massive stroke and assuming he lives through this, he's not going to be Prime Minister anymore, so let's move on. My God, you'd think he was the Pope or something the way NPR is carrying on about every small tidbit of news on his condition. I defiantly got the feeling that if had died last week, we were going to be in store for a round-the-clock Saturnalia of fawning adulation for the "Butcher of Beirut" the likes of which we hadn't heard since the Reagan funeral.

Fortunately, the "Killer of Qibya" is still alive, so we're spared having to hear about what a statesman and man of peace he was (With Lianne Hansen sobbing in the background) for a little while longer at least.

I don't understand why Sharon is getting all this coverage in the first place. Not only is he considered by a large portion of the Middle East, including many Jews, to be a blood-thirsty murdering war criminal, but he's the leader of a country the size of Rhode Island. I don't see what effect his incapacitation or death has on the average American in the long run. Whatever the long term consequences of his unexpected removal from the scene has on the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, it certainly doesn't warrant the kind of wall to wall media attention it’s getting.

My new blog.

Greetings folks.

I felt like the time was right for a new venue for my opinions and being new to Philly I thought this was a good time and place.

As I don't have an abundance of time today, I would like to invite any interested parties to visit my two other blogs, wherein you will find an interesting story about George Bush and his plans to fight aliens from the moon at Let's Talk About Democracy and a story about Ahmad Chalabi becoming oil minister, again, in Iraq at Non Sum Dignus.
