Another shot from Kathleen's archives with another lovely look at Durham Township's gorgeous landscape. This time, from last winter.
Not only was I treated to this image on my birthday last year, I'm treated to it now in the sweltering hot summer Philly is in the middle of right now. Overcast skies magnified by the black and white conversion of this image leading to even grayer grays, but still a white tuft right in the middle of the frame. The sun is up there somewhere. I thought that it would never get warmer four months ago, now, I dread stepping out of my air conditioned apartment. What I'd give to be able to make a snow angel right next to that long barn reminiscent of the long houses of American Indian tradition, which this barn is no doubt inspired by. The trees are mere shadowy elements in this shot closing off the rest of the field from this long barn. I wonder how far back they extend, what lies beyond what is divulged to the viewer in this image. It leaves me wanting more; I always feel that way whenever I click over to Kathleen's photoblog.
