Laura Kicey's got a new piece of glass and she's already having fun with it. Taking it out on one of her walks she found this fallen leaf in a bit of shallow water.
It being the time for the northeast's changing of colors, this photo is nicely timed. It's partially decayed or eaten furthering reason for it to have fallen as it has. It probably fell very recently as well since it still floats on top of the water. Mottled green in color, maybe this leaf was dying for a little while, the veins not carrying the nutrients it needed, instead, storing it deep within the tree's core for the cold months to come. The depth of field is a shallow f/2.8 blurring the bottom of the body of water and the overturned sunken leaf in the background.

I love this photoblogger series
Photographers, like yourself, see the world in different ways, and show the rest of us how to observe. Thanks for pointing us to Laura...I've very much enjoyed her work and added her to my contacts on Flickr. Yes, like many others I enjoyed her self-portraiture, but as you say, there's so much more. Thanks for the portal into this world, Albert.
quite diverse
While I'm partial to the portraits/self-portraits she has, her photos of architecture, abstracts, landscapes and still lifes are all wonderful. With the recent purchase of her new cam, she'll now have even more control over her images on top of her Photoshop tweaking magic. One last entry to close out the fortnight coming...
