My blog is dead, long live my blog

Indeed, the rumors are true, I'll be blogging (among other things) for Philadelphia Weekly sometime soon. (I'm at my old job until the end of July, then we have to set things up, etc., etc.) It will be a mix of culture/politics/sports/sex/etc. in Philadelphia, pretty much just a light-hearted take on the funniest city in the world.

It will be sweet to be getting paid to blog. Blogebrity A-List, here I come!

I'll be converting Philadelphia Will Do into an archive site sometime soon-ish. I'll let youse know when this thing gets going.

My Ideas to the world

Hello, It is a pleasure for me to be one and most participate of this site, infact am pleased.
i will be happy, and glad to recieve message from this site. Although am a new commer in the site.
I will like to know every thing partening this site, and the rules and regulations of the site.
Thanx

hello

I wish you all Good luck and God bless
I wish to know you all

congrats

how'd this come about? any discussion on what platform you'll use?

the scoop

The Daily News wrote about it today, but I'll quote the relevant part below:

PW editor Tim Whitaker decided to hire McQuade to blog on news, sports, arts, etc., after reading the Penn grad's personal blog at philadelphiawilldo.com.

That's essentially it.

Obviously, my body of work at the Bulletin and at the Daily Pennsylvanian was a factor too, and I'm going to be doing more than just blogging. But, yes, technically I moved from "editor" to "blogger" and got a raise. I love this country.

platform

Oh, and I'm not sure of the platform yet. The tech people will probably just end up handling that. (So, I'd assume MovableType. I guess WordPress could be an option, too.)

congrats

congrats, dmac. pretty cool, too, to be mentioned in the DN right next to George Brett and Dave Winfield. Just remember to keep the pine tar in check, lest the Billy Martins of the world get on your case -- though in the world of blogging, that's not always a bad thing.
