Cheap Trick and a Treat for the Whole Family

Cheap Trick

102.9 MGK's John Debella will play host this Sunday evening as Willow Grove Naval Air Station welcomes Cheap Trick for a free show. But it's more than merely an event with a free concert and a carnival-like atmosphere. It's also an opportunity to "thank all of those who have served on the base and thank the Willow Grove community for its support over the years."

Here's a snippet from top40-charts.com on the event:
Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK's "Support the Base" concert is a celebration to thank all of the hard working men and women of the United States military who have served on the base and also to thank the Willow Grove community for its support over the years. "Closing the Willow Grove Base is in a way like closing our community. It's a major contributor to the economy, the morale, and the structure of our neighborhoods. Washington needs to know and understand how important it is to us. That's why we don't want your money...we want you. We want this concert to send a message that we support the base, that we want to save our base, and that we will stand with it like it has stood with us," states John DeBella. The addition of Cheap Trick to the celebration will help to raise awareness throughout the Philadelphia area as to the important role the Willow Grove NAS has played in the community over the course of sixty years. ... It sounds like a great time for everyone, especially the classic rock fans and base supporters among us. The event runs from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday. More details at WMGK.com.
