October Philly Bloggers' Meetup Today

czar.gifThis month's very spooky Philly bloggers' meetup is taking place this Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 3:00 PM. It should be a spooktacularly good time with other local influencers (as I shall now call bloggers henceforth). The food is good, the beer is flowing, and the conversation isn't all that awkward (other than when I chime in).

Come join fellow Philly bloggers (or local influencers) to eat, drink, and be merry at the Nodding Head. Post about this on your blog, and let's make this the biggest meetup ever!

Here is the info:

Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 3:00 PM

Where:
Nodding Head
1516 Sansom 2nd Floor
Philadelphia, PA 19102
569-9525

Just look for the big dude not wearing a Hawaiian shirt (sadly it is too cold) and you will have found yourself a Philly bloggers' meetup.

Hope to see you there! And don't forget that you can RSVP via meetup.com or by leaving a comment on this post.

a hat!

maybe you should go out and get a nice fluffy russian had to warm you up!

Hey, forgive me 'cause it's

Hey, forgive me 'cause it's been a long while since I felt young enough to cruise South Street -- but is Hats in the Belfry still around? (I can't believe I don't know off the top of my head. Sorry, inadvertant play on words...)

leaving Meetup?

Hey - I know there was some discussion of leaving Meetup b/c they are charging. One of the other Meetups I'm part of has created a Yahoo Group to monitor the activity and plan events. Just a thought!

Will try - yet again - to make Saturday!

yessir

it's there -- and it better not go anywhere. I love that place!

how was it?

anything craaaazy go down?

We did get chastised for

We did get chastised for eating doughnuts -- does that count? And I would have thought for the money we brought in during an otherwise dead stretch of business, they'd show a little deference, especially considering they don't serve doughnuts. The bartender said we couldn't have them, at which point I was tempted to ask if he could order up a dozen from the kitchen instead... (and still we tipped well)

But it was an otherwise stellar event -- a few new faces seem to show up every time, and Chris kept us entertained during the quiet stretches with questions about food names containing military ranks and fish pants.

contraband!

like on Seinfeld when they bring in the outside syrup

Kind of, and we even tried

Kind of, and we even tried to joke with him about it, but he had no sense of humor... you probably could've scripted it for a sitcom.
