living wage
forget minimum, let's fight for a living wage.
I'm all for it...
but I thought starting with a simpler question would be good. I'm not sure most people have a clear enough notion of what "living wage" means.
Back Atcha...
For awhile, there has been a shifting: eliminating full time positions to increasing the offerings in part time positions without benefits and calling the net increase in jobs "growth". Many people these days need to squeeze out a living among several min wage jobs just to get by and STILL are doing without benefits and such. This makes it IMPERATIVE to increase the minimum. I don't buy that it'll cripple small business - I think the fear is the loss of mega profits to the Walmarts.
Sorry - long week, tired, need to shut up. Can you tell I was raised by a waitress....
Living wages
I think that wages should be raised due to the fact that most people making minimum wage are doing hard labor and alot of them have families that they are trying to support so they are working longer hours for less pay!
