We Are Scientists played the TLA last night. Their set was phenomenal. They played for just about an hour and nailed pretty much every song off of their debut With Love and Squalor.
We caught the last few songs of Au Revoir Simone (didn't like them) and then all of The Double's set (also didn't like them). To be honest, I didn't hear a single song from either band that I wanted to hear again.
W.A.S. have definitely gotten bigger since Brian and I saw them at The Northstar Bar in January. That show was really excellent as well, especially in the smaller venue. The TLA did just fine for the band, and the acoustics (surprising) were really good. Chris Cain and Keith Murray talked alot more than they did the last time, and they practically have a fucking comedy troupe going on stage. Luckily, they're actually funny so it's bearable.
The crowd was extremely young )maybe the youngest crowd I've seen in a while) and very into the set. Lots of dancing and a good deal of fans who wanted to shout random shit at the band, more so than usual. Brian brought his niece Allison to her first ever show and she agreed, We Are Scientists killed!
