Al-Jazeerah: Senator Santorum Repugnant Remarks on Islam, Iran, and Syria: Don’t ask Santorum to "apologize," folks. Vote Democratic.
Why would an international news organization publish such a piece, one focused on the political concerns of our state? And will it have the same effect as the Bin Laden message before the Presidential election of 2004?
Think about this use of the Internet. You have a news organization, with a political viewpoint, recognizing it can reach an audience across the world, in an attempt to effect local politics - thru words. And words alone.
My personal ummm reaction to this: STFU Al-Jazeerah.
He's OURs to criticize (or support).

on the other hand
Al-Jazeerah is a news organization (the quality of which is open to debate, I suppose). As such, they have the right to offer op-eds just like every other news organization, don't they?
Also, it may be fair to note that Al-Jazeerah doesn't just serve people in a specific locale; they have an audience that spans the planet, including the U.S. That being the case, it seems like they would have a right to offer opinions on matters in any place where their audience is located.
The only thing I would hope for is that voters prone to the reverse-psychological aspect of this sort of opinion might just stay home on election day. Or not be as stupid as they were in 2004.
"My enemies' enemy is my friend"?
Scary thought here because if you hate Santorum, then you welcome all the critcism, except for this. Can't you see the Santorum camp using this to their advantage? Honestly - speaking as someone who wants Santorum out, I wish Al-Jazeerah would stay out of this.
a very valid concern,
but isn't that more of a question of voter stupidity than anything else?
