Hot Picks on a Cold Morning

If you aren't all Charles and Camilla chasing, one of our bloggers over at the SAC Site , has promoted a photographer.

We like her stuff too, so why not spread the joy?

Need a photographer? Want to check out a photographer's work?

Check out Joanne Posse Photography

We hear she used to be part of Susan Beard Design once upon a time (we assume that is o.k. to reference because it's not like it is a state secret or something).

Anyway, we compared the two, and we're sure there are different price points as one is a huge studio and the other is an independent....and the independent, this Joanne, seems very artistic...her photos seem to speak, so enjoy a peek at the website!!!

We love to promote local business people, especially artists, and in case you missed out coverage for the January edition of First Friday Main Line, we have two more local discoveries for you:

Local artist Leslie Ehrin - her studies of Tuscany and modern impressionistic style are a fun feast for the eyes.

We also discovered a caterer who also has a restaurant down on South Street - ChriStevens - now delightful Christine's restaurant is Mimosa Ristorante (215) 238-0144 901 South St Philadelphia, PA 19147 - it's a BYOB - bring your appetite!

Michael Klein wrote up Mimosa in late November - now some of us were there after he did his review and we have to disagree on his desciption of the portions -we found them to be just right - so many restaurants load your plate like it is the "Last Supper".

Here is part of what he said:

Table Talk | Two more caterers try the restaurant business

Chefs tend to leave the wild world of restaurants in favor of the more predictable life of catering, where they know what to buy, how much staff to hire, and how many people they'll feed and when.

So how about this rash of new restaurants from owners who've boldly gone the other way. All are keeping their off-premises catering businesses.....Christine Fischer of ChriStevens Catering, meanwhile, has opened ChriStevens, a white-tablecloth BYOB at 901 South St. (215-238-0144), in the space on Ninth Street just north of South that formerly was Mimosa. (The Iovino family, which ran Mimosa, is devoting its energies to its forthcoming Girasole in the Symphony House under construction at Broad and Pine Streets.)

ChriStevens' menu fuses Mediterranean and Middle Eastern; the dinner menu is on the small side (with entrees $14 to $25), as Fischer focuses on specials that start at $25. It's open for lunch (Tuesdays through Fridays) and dinner (Tuesdays through Sundays).

And speaking of the "Last Supper" one of our members checked out "The Skinny"
