My friend Charlie was walking back from picking his kids up at Friends Select when he saw a city ordinance hearing sign at the park in front of the school. He wrote this note:
I was walking at 16th and the parkway yesterday, and saw a zoning notice posted at the triangle-shaped park that sits between 16th and 17th, between the Parkway and Cherry Street.
The notice was for a hearing to allow a restaurant to be built there (what is currently a city park). As much as I love the new outdoor seating at the Mexican Post there, I cannot imagine giving up green space to commerce on the Parkway.
Hopefully I am not misremembering, but the hearing was scheduled for 2pm on Wednesday, May 30 in the 1500 block of Arch. (I may have to walk past the signs again and report back).
