Not a Fan...
It's beautiful, and I love the interface, but I'm not spending $500 for a phone - I prefer my trust Nokia 3650 and Dell Axim x50v, thankyouverymuch. Besides, I've always thought that the long neglected Pocket PC platform, with a sexier interface, would be a more than capable competitor. Hopefully this will encourage developers, manufacturers, and carriers to get serious about the handset experience.
I'm a big fan of convergence devices, but I'll take a wait-and-see for the second generation as far as the iPhone is concerned.

Reluctance...
Although I'm reluctant to defend Mayor Street, he IS Mayor 24-hours a day - so I suspect his indulging in time to wait in line for a trinket isn't the best use of his time, but it's certainly no worse than the orgy of coverage the "media" did in the coverage of a commercial gadget...
