Boycott the US Virgin Islands. Not that we want to, but it might be the only way to get attention.

For more on Jamie see our website here. Please, the US Virgin Islands Dept of Tourism, the Governor and Police Chief and so on and so forth would LOVE to have this story die on the vine.

Natalee Holloway got more attention and that is just crap.

The US Government needs to get with the program too

I am a novice on the

I am a novice on the computer, so I hope I have answered all that is necessary.

I agree - there was

I agree - there was certainly enough HOOPLA about Natalee Holloway, so should there not be the same afforded to other unfortunates who have been victimized at these supposedly SAFE vacation spots. Also, I am tired of reading and hearing about Brittany and the Hilton tramp - they just want the publicity and they are certainly getting it.

The answer is NO. The reason

The answer is NO.

The reason is, Natalie Holloway should not have gotten the attention SHE did!

People go missing every day, but if it's a cute white girl, It's national news. Same as with the blond blue eyed kid in St John. (whom, i've heard from St John locals, was a bit of a dick.

HELP the family

Let's all reach out US Virgin Islanders (residents, government and help this family. We all have loved one and need to unite as one to HELP.

Ok, we've been beat up

Ok, we've been beat up enough. I am a former resident of Charlestown Township, I have lived in St. John for the past 2 years after going back and forth for many years. No, Jamie did not deserve to be murdered. I feel for his parents, I have an adult child who lives here, she graduated from Great Valley High School, she also knows there are consequences to her actions. Yes, we have a police force that is not steller, as a resident I have experienced this first hand more then once, any resident will admit that, however, let's not turn this into a witch hunt. I don't believe the Cockayne family wants the wrong people convicted for this horrendous act just so there is so called justice. Do I do believe the Cockayne family deserves the same attention as the Holloway case? Not at the cost of the hard working people of St. John. Beating us up and trying to stop tourism is only detremental to those of us go to work everyday and where we live, it won't accomplish the ultimae goal, finding Jamies killers. Just because this type of crime rarily occurs in the suburbs of Philly, where we are all protected does not call for a witch hunt. Look at what's happening in Philly, I read the Web site for Channel 6 on a regular basis. There is crime everywhere, we aren't going to stop that. Do we need an overhaul of the police department, yes, but let's not it be in a negative manner and at the expense of the people of St. John.

Beaten Up?

You say you've been beaten up? Luckily you haven't been killed and it happens in the USVI way too much because the murderers and criminals are let go and are walking the streets as I write. Watch your back because the murderers of Jamie are out there along will all the other criminals who have called and written stories. The local police and judicial system want the Cockayne family to walk away and let this be pushed under the rug like so many other criminal acts. The family has said from the beginning that they didn't want to hurt the USVI people and tourism because they love it there however after not hearing from the local police, judicial system and FBI they had no choice then to go to the national media and politians. The USVI want this case, like the others, to go away. Isn't it strange that no one will return the families phone calls or emails?

who knew?

...Interpretation of Justice Questioned
“But what is stupefying and horrifying here is the bungle factor in this murder case, which isn’t in a foreign country, but instead a U.S. territory,” according to a blog entry on the Web site SaveArdmoreCoalition.org. “Our American interpretation of justice doesn’t seem to exist, does it? First degree murder suspects who are flight risks are getting bail we normally see on the mainland for much lesser offenses.”

“Are we supposed to continue to travel and live in the U.S. Virgin Islands and pretend that ‘America’s Paradise’ is not a hotbed of corruption?” the blog continued.

Yep, ripped straight from our headlines here:

"But what is stupefying and horrifying here is the bungle factor in this murder case, which isn't in a foreign country, but instead a U.S. territory. Our American interpretation of justice doesn't seem to exist does it? First degree murder suspects who are flight risks are getting bail we normally see on the mainland for much lesser offenses. A court prosecutor (we guess like a DA) just inexplicably fails to show at a court proceeding, and that is ok? A family has been waiting since June for some knd of autopsy report, and that is ok?

Supposedly U.S. Congressmen, U.S. Senators, FBI and others we rely on for the correct carrying out of justice are involved, yet this case is such a miscarriage of our justice system and things we hold dear as Americans? The more time passes, the more we learn that Jamie's case is but the tip of the proverbial iceberg, and that is ok too?

Is this welcome to the twilight zone? Are we being legally punked here as U.S. citizens? Are we supposed to continue to travel and live in the U.S. Virgin Islands and pretend that "America's Paradise" is NOT a hotbed of corruption?"

Just wanted y'all to have the entire context...

WHO??

Who was Natallee Holloway(sp) any way? Who remembers any of these things after they happen except the people who are involved. Do we all need to be in constant mourning for the worlds' losses? Or can we all try to live a happy life and learn from our mistakes?

Are you implying that he

Are you implying that he deserved to die, or that his untimely death is less important because of rumored character flaws? I went to high school with the kid, played lax with him, and he was a character, definitely nothing worth being killed over. Maybe you'd call him a dick if you were uptight, but you wouldn't know, because you're making third hand assumptions about his personality, and using said judgment to determine that he does not "deserve" nationwide attention that might help solve his murder because you "heard he's a dick".
