Comic Energy was founded on October 16, 1999 by James Daly, with an original cast of Daly, Benjamin Joyce, Tiffany Borton, Dominick Anasasi, and Daniel Quintanilla.
Although planning, sketch writing, and casting took awhile the name Comic Energy was officially formed through correspondance by James Daly and Brian Bodohert on a Hollywood Actors message board. The idea Daly had was to create a sketch comedy troupe that would focus on a democratic way of developing ideas, writing sketches, and putting on live performances.
Comic Energy's first performance would come Jan. 21st, 2000 atop Cindy's Le Danse Studio, making Comic Energy Philly's 1st exclusive sketch comedy troupe and to this day the troupe still operates with the same quality values that it has since then.
The red hot comedy troupe continues their 8th season, Saturday night October 27th at Doc Watson's Pub with their Halloween performance.
C.E. is proud to welcome back long time member Walter Threadgill to the fold and it's as if he has never left.
Coming off their very loud and electrifying season opener at Doc Watson's, the type of performance that had the large crowd hoping for more, and the group hopes to fully satisfy them this time around.
"It's hard to get your fill at our shows because they are only an hour or so, it's just very fast paced and energetic", says producer JD Daly.
The latest installment comes on the heals of Comic Energy's proud accomplishment of being Philly's #1 comedy club according to MyFoxPhilly and features some of Comic Energy's favorite characters in ridiculously hilarious and off the wall situations that all pertain to the Halloween theme.
The cast is juiced and excited to bring their crowd a great performance and come October 27th with no exception to any other C.E. show the audience will leave laughing down the aisles.
