News Item:
Divorce and Small Claims available online
Apparently officials in Broward County, Florida, don't spend their waking hours fretting about the divorce rate in this country, because they just made getting a divorce even easier than it was. You can now do it online. The new county service provides for Divorce Applications, Motions for Small Claims Court, and Tenant Evictions, all on one nifty little site.
Now I don't know if divorces and 'small' claims belong in the same place.
If they had a Big Claims Court, I could see that.
Tenent Evictions? Well, in a round about way, I guess,
because in a divorce, someone is definitely getting tossed out.

I can't believe these
I can't believe these people, they create easier paths for getting divorced without even considering the high rates in this country. Is this even legal? I think a divorce process should be a little more complex than a "click" allowing couples to reconsider their decisions. The way I see it, things are not going any better.
Marriage Problems
online divorce
I am based in the UK and run a site http://www.click-divorce.co.uk, an online/DIY divorce service and it is perfectly legal. There are different laws here, however, that make getting divorced more difficult than it is in the US. For example Britney Spears could not have married here and then divorced within days. She would have to have waited at least 1 year before even starting proceedings. Even then, assuming both parties agree to everything, ( which is rare ) the divorce process still takes 4 months at least and has to be approved by a judge.
The reason that DIY online divorce is becoming popular in the UK is simply because the cost of using solicitors here is very high for a reasonably straightforward process that requires little legal knowledge.
Whilst I agree that marriage is, or should be, a serious commitment sadly relationships do break down. The heartache people go through when this happens is only added to when legal fees spiral out of control. The public certainly deserve the option of doing it themselves surely.
