Rock Band Liquor Boxx Partners With National Non-Profit for Suicide Prevention Conference
PHILADELPHIA (November 7, 2008) – Described by one critic as “sexy Chicago rock,” Liquor Boxx will see their “Inner Peace Tour 2008” swinging through Philadelphia to help promote a good cause.. The bluesy alternative rock band will be performing two shows at the 5th "National Mental Health on Campus Conference”, at the University of Pennsylvania.
Liquor Boxx is honored to be working with Active Minds, a non-profit that supports student-run mental health awareness, education, and advocacy groups on college campuses across the country. “We are fortunate to be involved with Active Minds, an organization which can and does truly make a difference in the lives of young people. Active Minds gives them an outlet and we are grateful to have the opportunity to share our voice with its members.
Liquor Boxx is currently on the East Coast leg of their 16-month "Inner Peace" tour, which has seen them perform more than 220 dates across the country. The band has played the New Orleans Jazz Fest, appeared on the Dave Navarro show "Spread", performed at the Chicago City Limits festival, is impacting college radio nationwide, appeared on WGN-TV's "Make It or Break It," played a raucous showcase at the Atlantis Music Conference and most recently played Myrtle Beach Bike Week. The 5th "National Mental Health on Campus Conference”, takes place on Friday, November 14, with Liquor Boxx performing at 1:30 pm and 8:15 pm and is free of charge.
