You can do something about your electric bill

SlowGardening has a post about energy conservation. It's very interesting reading, but the part that really struck me was the math. Through some pretty low impact procedures, home electricity consumption was cut in half. And that means the electricity bill was cut in half!

I'm an unfailing light switch flipper, so much so that my business partner called me a vampire the other day. This writing is all the impetus I need to continue on as Vlad.

thanks

very good article--thanks for highlighting it

Save on Gas, Too

If your home is heated by a gas furnace, a good way to save on home gas costs during the winter is to install a digital thermostat. Since you can program it to go easy when you're away or sleeping, you can really cut down on the amount you pay on your month gas bill.

Of course, insulating the home well, especially around windows and doors, does wonders in both the winter and the summer months.

So true...

My kids are the ones who are even more aware than me, especially about recycling. I liked the site...and the idea of conserving seems even more important than ever.
